Abstract:

Within the scope of this paper the structure of thermoelectric generators as well as their typical fields of application have been examined by means of different examples. Two useful fields of application have been thoroughly described based on different references. The first example demonstrates the application of thermogenerators for plant supervision. In this process the entire energy which is necessary for measuring sensors as well as for the wireless transmission of performance data of the thermogenerator type MPD-G751 is provided. The second example serves as a demonstration of a thermoelectric electricity generation plant using a pellet furnace, which was presented by a team of the Bio Energy Centre. Thereby thermal discharge is converted into sufficient electric power for the transportation of combustible material to the daily tank and for the distribution of heat inside the heating circuit. Furthermore, heat, which is extracted from the cold part of the thermogenerator, is delivered into the boiler for the water heating system. Concluding a theoretical concept for the integration of thermogenerators into gas furnaces is presented. However, the inspection and technical realization of this concept could not yet be implemented due to a lack of financial aid.
