dc.description.abstract
In this diploma thesis the system for measurement as part of the Instrumental-Neutron-Activation-Analysis (INAA) at the Atominstitut (ATI) at TU Wien should systematically be renewed and optimized. Components of the INAA, which are not counted among the measurement, are the analysis of measured spectra and evaluation of the containing peaks. This leads to the determination of the concentrations of elements analyzed by use of the INAA. These steps will be optimized beside the reorganization of the measurement system. The three main components will be united due to the creation of a user-friendly computer program with Visual-Basic. Furthermore several useful routines for supervising the processes will be add-ed. Aims of the reorganization are to avoid systematical errors and to reduce the standard error of the resulting nuclide concentrations. The main objectives are to ensure the reproducibility of the resulting data and out-comes and enhancement of data integrity. These aims should be achieved with broad automatic documentation routines and by minimizing manipulations of the INAA process by users. Some manipulations are unavoidable, therefore more automated and manual documentation possibilities have to be implemented to increase and guarantee the rigor of science with regard to emerging papers.
