Der Grünten ein Solitärberg in der Gemeinde Rettenberg und freistehender Vorankündiger der Oberstdorfer Alpenkette hat in der Region des Oberallgäus eine wichtige Schlüsselfunktion als Kurzerholungsgebiet und „Sportund Freizeitberg“ sowohl für die direkt umliegenden Dörfer aber auch für Einzugsgebiete bis Augsburg, Stuttgart und Lindau am Bodensee. Speziell durch seine übersichtliche Maßstäblichkeit bietet er jungen Familien aber auch Sportvereinen und Senioren eine hervorragende Anlaufstelle, ein bisschen „frische Luft zu schnappen“. Vor allem durch die aktuelle Schließung und die geplante Veräußerung der Ski-Liftanlagen ist diese wichtige Funktion des Berges akut gefährdet und drastische Einschnitte in die Regionalkultur sind als Folge zu befürchten.Die vorliegende Arbeit beginnt im Maßstab der Regionalplanung, indem zunächst für die gesamte Grüntenregion ein neues Nutzungskonzept erarbeitet wird. Als Herzstück dieses Konzeptes kristallisiert sich die neue Gipfelstation heraus, die hier sowohl konzeptionell einen Vorschlag an die Gemeinde richtet, in der aktuellen Situation eine neue Haltung zu finden, als dann auch konstruktiv ausgearbeitet wird, wie dort ein attraktiver Publikumsmagnet für die Region entstehen kann.

The „Grünten“ a solid mount in the municipality of Rettenberg and “welcomer” for the great Alps beginning in Oberstdorf has a key function not only for the surrounding villages but also cities like Augsburg, Stuttgart and Lindau (Bodensee) regarding sports and outdoor activities. It is an essential area for people not looking for “higher, faster, bigger” but searching a familiar scale for spending their spare time there. Currently the closing and planned selling of the existing ski-lifts are endangering not only nature and wildlife but also cultural aspects as potential investors always dream of making the big money but don t care about the people living there or the beauty itself the Grünten offers.This is a conceptional work including the whole region around the Grünten, working out an idea how the need of sports and outdoor activities we humans have can be combined with respecting and even protecting our nature s values. There is the idea of a new lift-building holding the key function for the whole area. A new and special concept regarding the use and functions of that building ensemble has been worked out as well as a interesting wood-construction wanting to attract future visitors and invite them to the peak of that beautiful and still familiar mountain.
