dc.description.abstract
Social innovation tools are essential for development interventions. The study surveyed different social innovation tools that have been successfully implemented in both the private and public sectors. It then identified a number of them that can enhance the design, implementation, evaluation and scaling of development projects and programmes for impact and sustainability. Key focuses were devoted to the more widely used social innovation tools of Theory of Change and the Business Model Canvas. To ensure its effectiveness, the adoption of these tools should go hand-in-hand with organizational changes that stimulate and instill a mindset of innovation.
