This thesis deals with the evaluation of passenger comfort for aerial ropeways. In particular, monocable gondola lifts with only one rope are considered, since these tend to strong vibration for design reasons. While driving along the track, a variety of events can occur, which stimulate the cabin and therefore the passenger to vibrations. This paper focuses on the identification of suitable assessment methods for the evaluation of the passenger comfort in these events. The comfort evaluation for passengers, while moving along a curved track with a monocable gondola is the main objective, given that in these situations the passenger comfort is affected very strong and passengers complain about feeling unwell. Since there is no explicit evaluation method for passenger comfort in aerial ropeways, standards from similar research fields are used and examined. Based on a simulation model for a horizontal curved track, these methods are applied and their results are compared. The simulation is created with the help of the Simpack multi-body simulation software. For further considerations parameter studies with the simulation model are carried out. The influence of individual parameters on the results of the passenger comfort assessment is considered. Further investigation possibilities as well as the corresponding need for modification of the considered evaluation methods for the application to cableways are also briefly outlined.
