In the context of Industry 4.0, the design requirements for future work systems are also growing from an occupational science perspective. A major influencing factor in the future design of production systems is demographic change and the resulting effects. A higher average age of the workforce, new technologies and work processes with high innovation activity and shorter product life cycles pose new challenges for the ergonomic design of workplaces. Not only the adaptation of people to their work and working environment is becoming more important, but also measures to adapt work and environment individually to people are gaining in importance. (Botthof et al., 2015, S. 24) Employees should experience relief in physical and mental activities through the use of mobile and individual assistance systems. The priority here is the cooperation between people and technology. For this purpose, digital assistance systems from the acoustic field are presented in this thesis. Among others, the pick-by-voice principle, noise-canceling headphones or other assistance systems or research in the field of acoustic design of the workplace. In order to demonstrate the benefits of digital audio assistance systems, a concept was developed in which noise-canceling headphones were combined with the pick-by-voice principle. This concept was evaluated with the method of a practical setup in the TU Vienna pilot factory under production-related test conditions with several test participants. Both in the field of ergonomics and in the field of economic productivity improvements compared to the previous situation could be found. The user acceptance and user-friendliness of the tested assistance system were also rated very positively by the test participants. Of particular interest is the finding out how well the assistance systems can be combined with each other and what synergies can be created.
