dc.description.abstract
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is not only in the construction industry, but also in the field of geodesy a relevant topic. The part BIM as built, where the existing conditions need to be surveyed and transformed into a digital 3D model, is the focus of this thesis in consideration of engineering geodesy. The basic concept of BIM is explained. In specific the existing literature and research of BIM as built is mentioned. The coordination systems of the popular BIM software Autodesk Revit and Allplan Nemetschek are discussed in relation to the definition of the coordinate system of the Industry Foundation Class (IFC). The topic BIM as built is not only discussed theoretically, but also analysed in a practical way. A part of the Kraftwerk Simmering is used as a testing area. Existing tachometric measurements from Wiener Netze is used to model a digital 3D model. For the modelling the focus is on the software Autodesk Revit. To draw a comparison of the modelling process the software Allplan Nemetschek is used. Additionally a laserscan measurement was taken from two defined areas of the test area. The resulting pointclouds are used to analyse the SCAN2BIM process. The modelling based on the pointclouds is done with the plugin FARO As-Built for Revit. The different modelling processes are analysed and the represented accuracy of the models is evaluated based on the Level of Accuracy (LOA) scheme which is defined from the U.S. Institute of Building documentation.
