Facility Management (FM) wird immer wichtiger für sämtliche große nationale und internationale Unternehmen. Die Potentiale zur Optimierung und Kosteneinsparungen bei den Betriebsliegenschaften sind groß. Neben der Unterstützung des Kerngeschäftes gewinnt der Facility Manager immer mehr an Bedeutung in den Bereichen der Produktionssteigerung und der Vermehrung des Umsatzes. Außerdem unterstützt der FM Manager nachweislich die übrigen Immobiliensparten. Das Ziel dieser Masterthese ist die Untersuchung des Status Quo und die potentielle Entwicklung und Trends des Facility Managements in Österreich 2014 und 2015. Die Datenerhebung erfolgte über einen standardisierten Fragebogen mit 5 großen Hauptthemen, welcher die meisten der Kernthemen innerhalb dieser Immobilienmanagementdisziplin abdeckt und so die wissenschaftliche Analyse ermöglicht. Die Gruppe der Befragten ist sehr spezifisch ausgewählt, es sind die Top 500 Konzerne Österreichs, des Jahres 2014/15, gemessen am Unternehmensumsatz.. 54 von diesen haben sich an der wissenschaftlichen Befragung beteiligt. Die gewonnen Daten werden statistisch ausgewertet und gesammelt in dieser Arbeit wiedergegeben. Diese werden auch mit Vorjahreserbnissen und anderen europäischen Ländern verglichen Die Datenerhebungsmethode ist die sogenannte -Mixed Research Method- eine Kombination von quantitativer und qualitativer Informationsbeschaffungstechniken der empirischen Sozialforschung.
