dc.description.abstract

dc.description.abstract
In this work, the degradation mechanisms of polyethylene, their influences on the material characteristics and the triggers of the ageing processes were investigated on the basis of three different test series. The polyethylenes used comprise four different types: PE-LD, PE-LLD, PE-MD, PE-HD and are divided into virgin and recycled materials. The series of experiments includes, firstly, the multiple extrusion of all materials, which is intended to represent a repetitive recycling process, and secondly, an experiment in which the processing parameters of dwell time are structurally determined.the processing parameters of dwell time, extrusion temperature and shear rate, which are the most important ageing mechanisms were varied. In a third step, the influence of stabilisation additives on already recycled polyethylenes was investigated. The multi-extruded materials were analysed thermally, mechanically and rheologically.
