The central topic of this work is the evaluation of learning platforms. The main part of the work represents the goals of the evaluation as well as the types of evaluation and methods. After the explanation of the basics of learning platforms, finally a special attention is focused to the common learning platforms Moodle and Fronter. The results of this work are based on a survey, which was realized with users of learning platforms. As key results can be named the following findings: The popularity of the learning platforms is rising extremely. Nowadays the platforms have become a significant part of our daily learning interval. So students have the possibility to simplify the learning process and use the platforms independent of time and place at the daily internet era.
