To perform the necessary outdoor investigations, data acquired at the ABD-plant (ABD - airport bolzano dolomiti) in Bolzano has been examined. This work considers the temperature dependence at three different irradiance levels of the majority of commercially available PV technologies. Temperature coefficients for current, voltage and power are derived as parameters. For indoor measurements, which are performed at standard test conditions, all technologies show the same tendency for the temperature coefficients (positive for the current and negative for voltage and power). However, they can strongly differ from coefficients determined in outdoor measurements, where the standard test conditions are often not matched. The results of this work clearly show that outdoor measurements are strongly needed in combination with indoor experiments to better estimate and understand outdoor behavior of PV technologies and hence to improve the technologies in order to have higher energy production in realistic conditions.
