Fischer, P. (2011).
This Master Thesis faces the task of designing a test stand to research the influence of steam bubbles on the mass flow of a natural circulation steam generator. Beside the construction of such a test stand, this also includes the production of gas bubbles in the fluid and the calculation of the mass flow.
For this reason, the first part of this thesis explains the theoretical basics. In this context the essential terms, numbers and parameters are defined. Later on, the different kind of flow regimes for a two-phase flow in vertical pipes and the processes of bubble creation and bubble movement are going to be explained.
In the second part, the assembly of the test stand, including the bubble producing device, is introduced. In addition, the formulas, which are essential for a successful calculation, are presented.
The results and an examination of the calculations are shown in the third part. For this reason, three different scenarios with six points of data each are used.
In conclusion it can be stated, that, based on this thesis, it should be possible to construct the test stand and, using the calculations, a statement about the constitution can be achieved.
