Die Arbeit beschäftigt sich intensiv und ausgiebig mit dem Thema der Projektfinanzierung unter Unsicherheit. Im Fokus der Ausführungen steht ein Projektunternehmen, welches nach Entscheidungsgrundlagen sucht, um eine bevorstehende Finanzierung unter Maßgabe von unsicheren Eingabeparametern -wie z.B. Wechselkurse, Zinsen oder Preise für verwendete Rohstoffe - sinnvoll und adäquat zu beurteilen. Die Aufstellung eines statischen Modells zur Modellierung des Problems (EXCEL) mit anschließender Überführung in ein dynamisches Modell (MATLAB) bildet die Grundlage der Herangehensweise für eine Entscheidungsfindung bzw. Interpretation der Möglichkeiten und Ergebnisse auf Kennzahlenbasis. Die Wahl der stochastischen Simulation mittels eines Random-Walks-Ansatzes über die Monte Carlo Methode bildet den wesentlichen Teil des übergeführten statischen Modells in der dynamischen Ebene. Durch Zuhilfenahme von statistischen Methoden wird versucht, die Entscheidungsfindung mathematisch zu untermauern bzw. eine sachlich korrekte und fundierte Grundlage zu liefern. Mit Hilfe von formulierten Forschungsfragen wird die Thematik in Bereiche aufgeteilt, wobei die Sinnhaftigkeit des Monte Carlo Ansatzes hinterfragt wird sowie die einhergehenden Probleme der Langfristigkeit und unsicheren Eingabeparameter dargelegt werden. Mittels einer Vielzahl an dynamischen Simulationen werden die verschiedenen Aspekte der Projektfinanzierung unter Unsicherheit beleuchtet und die damit verbundenen Probleme und Zusammenhänge anschaulich vermittelt.
