Betrieb von Kleinwindkraftanlagen - ein Überblick über Markt, Technik und Wirtschaftlichkeit

Abstract

Unter Kleinwindkraftanlagen versteht man Systeme zur regenerativen Erzeugung elektrischer Energie aus dem Wind mit Nennleistungen von einigen Kilowatt (maximal etwa 100 kW) und Rotordurchmessern von einigen Metern (maximal etwa 16m). Während große Windkraftanlagen im Megawattbereich bereits weit verbreitet sind und ihre Kinderkrankheiten überwunden haben, ist der Sektor der Kleinanlagen erst im Aufbau begriffen. Eine Untersuchung zeigt, dass Kleinwindkraftanlagen nicht einfach nur kleine Windkraftanlagen sind - sie unterscheiden sich hinsichtlich Technik als auch Wirtschaftlichkeit oft wesentlich von ihren großen Brüdern. Da es bis dato nur wenig wissenschaftliche Literatur zu diesem Thema gibt, hat es sich diese Arbeit zum Ziel gesetzt, einen Überblick über die wichtigsten Aspekte im Zusammenhang mit dem Betrieb von Kleinwindkraftanlagen zu bieten. Auf Details zur Konstruktion und Auslegung von Anlagen wird nicht eingegangen.<br />Die Arbeit ist im wesentlichen in drei Teile gegliedert: Begonnen wird mit einer Analyse des derzeitigen Marktes der Kleinwindkraftanlagen. Die verschiedenen grundlegenden Anlagentypen werden an Hand von typischen Vertretern vorgestellt. Beispiele für mögliche Anwendungsgebiete werden gegeben, und die unterschiedlichen Konzepte der Gesamtsysteme werden erläutert.<br />Im zweiten Teil erfolgt eine Beschreibung der technischen Konzepte der einzelnen Komponenten einer Anlage, wie Generator, Wechselrichter, Laderegler, Leistungsregelung, usw., wobei ein besonderes Augenmerk auf die verschiedenen Arten des Maximum Power Point Trackings und der Lastanpassung gelegt wird. Zum Vergleich werden die bei modernen Großanlagen verwendeten Konzepte erwähnt.<br />Der letzte Teil befasst sich mit einer Untersuchung der Wirtschaftlichkeit von Kleinwindkraftanlagen. Da hierbei die Windverhältnisse eine entscheidende Rolle spielen, wird zuerst gezeigt, wie bei der Wahl des richtigen Anlagenstandorts vorzugehen ist, und welchen Einfluss die mittlere Windgeschwindigkeit auf den Energieertrag hat. Sodann werden die Stromgestehungskosten einer Kleinwindkraftanlage ermittelt, und es wird eine Sensitivitätsanalyse durchgeführt, um den Einfluss der verschiedenen Parameter abschätzen zu können. Abschließend erfolgt ein Vergleich mit den üblichen Einspeisetarifen und Strompreisen.<br />

Small wind turbines are systems for the production of electrical energy by the use of wind power, having a nominal power of some kilowatts (maximum approximately 100 kW) and rotor diameters of some meters (maximum approximately 16m). Whereas big wind turbines of the megawatt-class are wide spread nowadays and have overcome their initial problems, the market of small wind turbines is just at its beginning. An examination shows that small wind turbines are not simply small versions of the big wind turbines - they often differ significantly from the big ones in technical and economic aspects. Up to date there exists hardly any scientific literature on this topic, so it is the goal of this diploma thesis to give a broad survey on the most important aspects concerning the operation of small wind turbines. The treatise does not give any details on the construction or calculation of a turbine or system.<br />The treatise is divided into three parts: At the beginning, there is an analysis of the present market of small wind turbines. The different basic types of small wind turbine systems are presented, which is done by describing examples of common systems. Examples for possible applications are given, and the different concepts for the entire system are explained. The second part gives a description of the technical concepts of the single components of a system, like the generator, inverter, charge controller, power control, etc. A special focus is set on the different types of maximum power point tracking and load adaptation. For the purpose of comparison, the technical concepts of modern big wind turbines are mentioned. The last part examines the economy of small wind turbines. Because wind conditions play a key role in this connection, the procedure of choosing the right turbine location is explained at first, and the influence of the annual mean wind speed on the energy yield is investigated. Next, the electricity costs per produced kWh are calculated, and a sensitivity analysis is carried out to assess the influence of each individual parameter. Finally, the production costs are compared to actual feed-in tariffs and electricity prices.
