Potential of renewable energy in the countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, FYR Macedonia, Kosovo and Serbia

Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to depict where in the countries of Bosnia and Herzegovina, FYR Macedonia, Kosovo and Serbia so far unexploited potential of renewable energy exists and to assess the current investment climate in these countries such as the legal and economical environment. The examined renewable energy sources were: hydro power, biomass, wind power, geothermal and solar energy. The results are quite heterogenic as the investigated countries are heterogenic in terms of political, economical and legal development. Also the different geographic and climatic conditions in the concerned countries are resulting in a differentiated result, which will be revealed and discussed in depth in this thesis.
