Standort des Projekts ist der Feuerkogel als Teil des Höllengebirges im Salzkammergut Oberösterreich. Das Hotel liegt in 1600m Höhe und wird mit einer ins Gebäude integrierte Seilbahn erschlossen.Um den Flächenverbrauch möglichst gering zu halten ist die Idee eines Hotelturms entstanden.Durch die vertikale Ausrichtung des Gebäudes ergibt sich ein weithin sichtbares Zeichen in der Landschaft. Es werden somit neue Aussichten sowie neue Ansichten des Berges geschaffen.Die einfache Geometrie des Baukörpers wirkt als Gegenpol zur bewegten Landschaft.Eine Art künstlicher Felsen aus Sichtbeton mit großzügigen Öffnungen hebt sich aus dem Gelände heraus, und strebt in den Himmel.<br />Ein Veranstaltungssaal verbindet als eingeschobener Baukörper den Turm mit dem Gelände.Prinzipiell beginnt die Erschließung mit der Talstation in Ebensee.Nach einer 5minütigen Fahrt und einer Überwindung von 1100 Höhenmetern erreicht man die Ankunftsebene des Hotels.Der Beherbergungstrakt bildet den Mittelpunkt des Gebäudes und erstreckt sich über 8 Geschosse mit jeweils 10 Zimmern.Den Abschluss des talseitig 100m hohen Turms bilden ein Restaurant und die darüber befindliche über 2 Geschosse laufende Skybar.Ziel war es, einen öffentlichen, kulturellen Anziehungspunkt an einem ungewöhnlichen Ort zu schaffen.
