Kulturzentrum Sofiensäle

Abstract

In der Diplomarbeit wird eine Neuinterpretation der Sofiensäle, als Kulturzentrum beschrieben. Die historischen Sofiensäle dienen als Grundgerüst für den Entwurf eines neuen Zentrums im Stadtgebiet. An dem Standort soll ein neuer Musiksaal mit Museum und Markthalle entstehen.<br />Die Geschichte des Gebäudes und seiner Umgebung, dienen dem Entwurf als Grundpfeiler, die Multifunktionalität des Gebäudes soll weiter verfolgt werden und weiterentwickelt werden. Um dies zu bewerkstelligen werden in der Arbeit Typologien von Kulturräumen sowie gebaute Beispiele verschiedener Kunst- und Kulturbauten gezeigt. Der neue Entwurf ist kontextuell eine Weiterführung der historischen Sofiensäle, steht in seiner Ausformulierung, aber klar als eigenständiges neues Bauwerk im Gegensatz zu dem Bestandsbau. Somit soll der Neubau als einer zeitgemäße Weiterentwicklung der Historie gelesen werden und nicht als Rekonstruktion des Bestandsgebäudes.

This diploma thesis shows a possible new interpretation of the so called "Sofiensäle" (Vienna), as a new arts centre. The historical "Sofiensäle" are used for a new design concept as a new centre of the urban area around this building. A new music hall, museum and a market hall are planned for this area. The history of the building and of the urban area around this building are the foundation for the concept and design of the new arts centre. The multifunctionality of the historical building is used also for the new conception of the arts centre. The new design of the centre is a new interpretation of the "Sofiensäle". It is a new design for contemporary arts, also the building is an contemporary design for our age.
