Dies geschah während einer weltweiten ökonomischen Krise und einem Rekordjahr durch von Naturkatastrophen angerichteten Schaden. Daher ist es wichtig zu verstehen wie diese Systeme verbunden sind. Diese Arbeit bietet einen Überblick über verschiedene Papers, welche das Thema mit verschiedenen Methoden behandelt haben. Anschließend nutzen wir ein optimales Kontrollmodell mit endogener Fertilität, Kapital und Emissionen. Diese verbinden die Systeme Ökonomie, Bevölkerung und Umwelt. Das Modell ist erweitert durch eine endogene Mortalitätsfunktion sowie Shallow Lake Dynamics. Die Arbeit zeigt die Konsistenz der Modelle und liefert real-überprüfbare Resultate.

World population reached the 7-billion mark in 2011. This event took place during the middle of a world wide economic crisis, combined with a record-year of damages due to natural disasters. Therefore the question arises if and how these systems are related. This thesis provides an overview of several papers, which have treated this topic with various approaches. Afterwards we present an Optimal Control Model model where fertility, capital and emissions are treated as endogenous controls, connecting the three systems of population, economy and environment. We extend the model by introducing more complex dynamics of two kinds. First a mortality function of either capital or environmental quality or both is introduced. Second advanced dynamics of the environment, called Shallow Lake Dynamics are discussed. This study shows the consistency of the analyzed model and provides results which are overlapping with real world developments.
