In June 2015 baukuh, LIST, Bodà, FM engineering and ABKons won the competition for the Tirana Student City. Since then, the project has been developed into a masterplan approved at the end of 2016 and is now progressing towards the realization of the first stage, that includes the definition of the main public spaces of the new campus.

Additional information:
The Student City is a complex built over more than 50 years, including ca. 35 major buildings, with a footprint of ca. 250,000 sqm and a built surface of ca. 155,000 sqm. As of today, the Student City lacks a centre, lacks urbanity, lacks a relation to the city around it. Our project will turn this accumulation of buildings into an urban figure, recognizing a latent form, more than imposing a new one. The empty field will turn it into the core of a new vibrant part of the city, the lawn of a new campus.
