Für die Behandlung von Entzündungen wird in der Zahnmedizin zunehmend auf den Einsatz von Lasern gesetzt. Die hervorragende antibakterielle Wirkung des Lasers ist seit geraumer Zeit unbestreitbar.<br />Bei vielen Lasern lässt sich die Energie mittels Lichtleiter transportieren und so können oft schwer zugängliche Stellen punktgenau behandelt werden. Ein weiteres Plus dieser Behandlungsmethode ist, dass es keine Nebenwirkungen, wie beispielsweise eine Unverträglichkeit von Antibiotika, gibt. Der einzige negative Faktor ist die Temperaturentwicklung die bei der Einstrahlung des Laserlichts erfolgt.<br />Diese Diplomarbeit beschäftigt sich genau mit diesem Problem. Es wurden verschiedenste Laser in Energiebereichen, die für eine Behandlung von Entzündungen vorgesehen sind getestet. Die Hauptaufgabe bestand darin, an einem Zahnimplantat, welches in einem Kunststoffblock eingeschraubt wurde eine Temperaturkurve während der Einstrahlung von Laserlicht zu messen. Die Messungen erfolgten an zwei verschiedenen Positionen (coronal und apical) und wurden mit Hilfe von zwei Thermoelementen durchgeführt. Mit einem Laptop wurde die aktuelle Temperatur an den betreffenden Positionen aufgezeichnet und so die Temperaturkurve ermittelt. Die verwendeten Implantate besitzen eine Titanoxidoberfläche und werden auch in der Medizin eingesetzt. Um möglichst viele Fragestellungen abdecken zu können wurden zwei verschiedene Versuchsanordnungen gemacht, wobei der Unterschied lediglich in der Art der Implantation im Kunststoffblock lag. Um realitätsnahe Bedingungen zu schaffen wurde der Kunststoffblock in einem Wasserbad auf eine konstante Temperatur von 37 °C gebracht. Ab einer Erhöhung von 10 - 13 °C über der Körpertemperatur kann es bereits zu irreversiblen Schädigungen kommen.<br />Die gesammelten Ergebnisse gaben schließlich einen Aufschluss darüber, ab welcher verwendeten Energie es bei den verschiedenen Lasern zu einer Überschreitung dieses Grenzwertes kommt.
