Virtuelle Rekonstruktion der Synagogen in Bad Erlach an der Pitten und in der Malzgasse 16, Wien II

Abstract

Gegenstand dieser Diplomarbeit ist die virtuelle Rekonstruktion dreier Synagogen: eine kleine Privatsynagoge in Bad Erlach an der Pitten und zwei Vereinssynagogen am Grundstück Malzgasse 16 im zweiten Wiener Gemeindebezirk. Der Bau von Bad Erlach entstand 1895/96 auf Privatinitiative des Weinhändlers Simon Hacker. Die erste Synagoge der Malzgasse 16 wurde 1884 nach den Plänen Jakob Moderns auf dem Grundstück der schon existenten Schule des Vereins Thalmud-Tora erbaut. 1906 wurden beide Gebäude abgetragen und der Neubau der Schule mit angrenzender Synagoge von Theodor Schreier im darauffolgenden Jahr realisiert. Diese Arbeit dokumentiert die geschichtliche Einordnung der Gebäude, ihre Autorenschaft und die Modellierung anhand unterschiedlicher Quellen basierend auf dem Dokumentationstool sciedoc.org. Im finalen Teil werden die 3D-Modelle visualisiert und in fotorealistischer Darstellung abgebildet. Ziel ist es, durch die virtuelle Rekonstruktion diese verlorenen Bauten und Kulturgüter visuell wieder erlebbar zu machen.

Subject of this master thesis is the virtual reconstruction of three synagogues: one small private synagogue in Bad Erlach at the river Pitten and two synagogues of a Jewish association on the site of Malzgasse 16 in the second Vienniese district. The building in Bad Erlach originated in 1895/96 due to the private initiative of the wine merchant Simon Hacker. The first synagogue in Malzgasse 16 was built in 1884 based on the plans of Jakob Modern on the site of the already existing school of the Jewish school association Thalmud-Tora. In 1906 both buildings were pulled down and the new construction of the school with adjoining synagogue from Theodor Schreier took place the following year. This thesis documents the historical classification of the buildings, their authorships and the modelling taken from various sources based on the documentation tool sciedoc.org. In the final part the 3D-models are visualized and are shown in fotorealistic images. The objective is to make these lost buildings and cultural artifacts come alive though to virtual reconstruction.
