Die ehemalige Burganlage Oberrußbach : Dokumentation - Analyse - Revitalisierung

Abstract

Die einstige Burg befindet sich am südlichen Rand des etwa 300 Einwohner großen Dorfes Oberrußbach im Bezirk Korneuburg. Es handelt sich hierbei um eine ehemalige Wehranlage des Mittelalters, die auf einem Ausläufer des Altenberges gelegen ist und von einem Ringwall und einem Graben umgeben wird. Im Laufe der Zeit wurden an der Burg, zufolge unterschiedlichster Nutzungen, bauliche Veränderungen vorgenommen. Unter anderem kam es Ende des 17. Jahrhunderts zu Teilabbrüchen und aufgrund der späteren landwirtschaftlichen Nutzung des Gebäudes zu starken Umbauten. Zum heutigen Zeitpunkt befindet sich das Objekt in ruinösem Zustand und die vorzufindenden Gebäudestrukturen weichen stark von denen der ehemaligen Burg ab. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es anhand der Untersuchung des Bestandes, die bauliche Entwicklung der Burg zu dokumentieren und analysieren, um in weiterer Folge ein Konzept für den zukünftigen Umgang mit der bestehenden Substanz hinsichtlich der Nutzung, Funktion und Einbindung in die umgebende Dorfstruktur entwickeln zu können.

The former castle is located on the southern edge of a village with about 300 residents called Oberrußbach, in the district of Korneuburg. It is a former fortification of the Middle Ages, which is situated on a foothill of the Altenberg and surrounded by a circular rampart and a moat. Due to different uses over time structural changes were made at the castle. At the end of the 17th century partial demolitions took place and in consequence of a later agricultural use of the building major alterations were made. At the present time, the object is in ruinous condition and the existing building structures differ widely from those of the former fortification. The aim of this work is to document and analyse the structural development of the castle based on the analysis of the existing context, in order to develop a concept concerning the future handling of the existing structure regarding use, function and integration to the surrounding village structure.
