Titelübersetzung des Autors: Integrative School in Bolivia
-
dc.description.abstract

dc.description.abstract
This work deals with the design of a school building focused on integration, inclusion and accessibility. It is located in Bolivia, which raises the challenge of implementing contemporary design in an economically weak region with underdeveloped infrastructure. The school building presented here is composed of clusters with partially movable walls, allowing for a flexible room configuration. This way, class rooms can be altered and adapted to the needs of the children. In consideration of design criteria for building in tropical and subtropical regions local building materials are used. Predominantly building with adobe, as building with clay is used for different, mainly vernacular building techniques in the whole region, but offers further advantages for being always available, cheap and good for the regulation of humidity.
