Abstract:
Before a satellite gets in use, it must fulfill a lot of tests on earth. Mechanical components represent the connecting element between the satellite and the test facility. Mostly, these components are conical adapters. The connection between adapter and satellite is realized with a special clamping device. At Co. RUAG Space GmbH, the test spectrum for those components (adapters and clamping devices) involves particularly the proof of the static strength. The aim of this thesis is to develop a test rig, which enables a testing of these components by the use of an active load application. This load application is realized with hydraulic cylinders, which are positioned in Cartesian orientations. Thus, a three-dimensional resultant force vector can be created. Generally, the test rig can be divided into two main constructions. The first one is the force application point dummy, which is connected with the adapter by the clamping device. The second one is the frame construction, which bears the force application point dummy including the testing objects. Beside the designing of the test rig, this thesis also includes calculations and analyses of most components. The calculation is mainly realized with the use of the Finite-Element-Method. Thereby, global beam and shell models are created. In addition, detail and stability analyses are done, too.
