Abstract:
The master thesis "SawSense-Business Plan, Spinning of results from a public R&D Centre" demonstrates exemplarily how R&D results, available from finished R&D projects at a R&D center or a university institute can be targeted towards the market. SawSense introduce a novel and unique RFID technology for securing oil&gas drilling operations. The use of the Surface Acoustic Wave RFID technology on drill pipes increases the lifecycle of each drill pipe and decreases the risk of malfunctioning down hole at the same time. Due to the harsh environment (high temperature and pressure), standard RFID technologies cannot survive down hole and no standard technology has successfully entered the market so far. SawSense introduce the rigid Surface Acoustic Wave Technology to the market and intend to set the dominant design for RFID technology within the oil&gas market segment in the long term. Striving for technological and market leadership through continuous improvement and development, SawSense uses cooperation and partnering with key customers (market segment insiders) for a fast and efficient market entry.
