Implication and integration possibilities of Open Innovation approach to PLM

Abstract

Diese Diplomarbeit betrachtet die Auswirkungen und Integrationsmöglichkeiten von Open Innovation Ansätze auf PLM.<br /> In dieser Diplomarbeit wurde des Konzept PLM betrachtet. Interaktion zwischen PLM und Open und Closed Innovation Systemen wurde berücksichtigt. Open Innovation und die möglichkeiten die in PLM zu integrieren stellen große Interesse für die Ingeniuere dar. Dies ist besonderes interessant für PLM 2020. Zwei Innovationen Systemen wurde in der Thesis betrachtet: Open Innovation und Closed Innovation. Nachteile und Vorteile von die Innovationen Systemen wurde berücksichtigt. Verschiedene Möglichkeiten von Crowdsourcing Methoden wurde betrachtet. Als Teil des Innovationssystem Agile Software Development ist berücksichtigt.

Product Lifecycle Management represents a huge area of interests for scientist and engineers all over the world. A new trend, Open Innovation, and possibilities to integrate them to PLM are also on great demand in the engineering field. In this thesis two innovation systems were presented. Open Innovation and traditional innovation system, Closed Innovation systems were described. Both innovation systems have advantages as well as disadvantages in their models. Companies deciding by themselves, whether they want to use Open or Closed Innovation model. To determine the openness of the companies some questionnaires have to be answered. Development of new technologies is one of the factors that erode borders in Closed Innovation system. Involvement of the customers to the process of development of the products, assessment of the products during the whole phase of the product lifecycle brings novelty in the products. Using Open Innovation companies achieve results in decreasing of time-to-market, decreasing of the costs of the product development and other advantages.<br />
