Diese Diplomarbeit entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit einer Arbeitsgruppe der niederösterreichischen Gemeinde Kürnberg/St.Peter in der Au. Durch fortlaufend wachsende Beliebtheit und steigendem Tourismus der Katastralgemeinde kam das Bedürfnis nach mehr Platz für kulturelle, religiöse sowie soziale Aktivitäten, auf. Ziel dieser Diplomarbeit ist die Planung und Realisierung eines neuen Gemeindezentrums am Standort des alten Pfarrhofs aus dem Jahr 1966, der den heutigen Anforderungen nicht mehr entspricht. Das Grundstück des alten Pfarrhauses befindet sich zwischen der Landstraße und dem Ortsplatz von Kürnberg. Zukünftig sollen auf diesem ca. 3.100m² großen Areal in Südhanglage ein Pfarrgemeindezentrum sowie ein zweigruppiger Kindergarten entstehen. Bei diesem Projekt in ökologischer Passivhausbauweise stehen Nachhaltigkeit und erneuerbare Energien im Vordergrund. Das neue Gemeindezentrum soll ein architektonischer Mittelpunkt des Ortes werden, der das Zusammenleben der Katastralgemeinde durch kreative Entfaltungsmöglichkeiten für Ortsvereine und die Schaffung von Veranstaltungsmöglichkeiten fördert. Erneuerbare Energien werden ein wesentlicher Bestandteil des Gebäudekonzeptes sein, um aus einem Energieverbraucher einen Energiespender zu machen.
