Abstract:
Die Forderung nach der Senkung des Kraftstoffverbrauchs und damit der Reduzierung der CO2-Emissionen zwingt die Automobilindustrie, neue Motorenkonzepte mit höheren Wirkungsgraden vor allem in der Teillast zu entwickeln. Ansätze zur Steigerung der Effizienz von Ottomotoren sind das Downsizing (Verkleinerung des Hubvolumens und Verlagerung der Betriebspunkte in Richtung höherer Mitteldrücke) und das Entdrosseln des Motors durch Ladungsverdünnung (Abmagerung oder Abgasrückführung). Hohe Downsizing-Grade machen den Einsatz klopffesterer Kraftstoffe wie z. B. Bioethanol notwendig. Außerdem erfordern die stark verdünnten Ladungen bzw. die großen Gemischmassen gezielt gesteuerte, intensive und hochturbulente Strömungen im Brennraum. Durch diese Maßnahmen zur Steigerung des Wirkungsgrades des Ottomotors ergeben sich sehr hohe Anforderungen an das Zündsystem, wie eine lange Funkenbrenndauer und eine hohe Funkenenergie bei hohen Durchschlagsspannungen. Da die herkömmlichen Zündsysteme diese Anforderungen nicht erfüllen können, müssen Alternativen gefunden werden. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, mittels optischer Aufnahmen, elektrischen Vermessungen und Entflammungsuntersuchungen an einem Einzylinder-Forschungsmotor, aus sechs Funkenzündsystemen und einem Corona-Zündsystem die für den Einsatz in modernen hochaufgeladenen Ottomotoren am besten geeigneten Systeme herauszufiltern. Bei den Messungen am Forschungsmotor kommen zwei Zündkerzen mit verschiedenen Elektrodenabständen und drei Kraftstoffe mit unterschiedlichen Ethanol- Gehalten zum Einsatz. Die Versuche zeigen deutlich, dass die Funkenzündsysteme mit der längsten Funkenbrenndauer für die Verbrennungseinleitung bei kleinen Drehzahlen geeignet sind und die Systeme mit einer hohen Funkenenergie für die Entflammung von Gemischen mit hoher Dichte bei hohen Drehzahlen. Das Corona-Zündsystem erwies sich in beinahe allen Betriebspunkten als jenes mit dem höchsten Potenzial.
