dc.description.abstract
Die Studie untersucht u.a.
dc.description.abstract
Purchase is a business-function that consists of several sub-processes. These include everything from demand assessment to solicitation of quotations and analysis of offer, all the way to ordering and order monitoring. Businesses and purchase personnel make use of the proper tools, methods and strategies in order to yield an increase in effectivity and efficiency in the procurement processes. On behalf of the Forum Einkauf, part of the Österreichisches Produktivitäts- und Wirtschaftlichkeitszentrum [Austrian Center for Productivity and Efficiency], Fraunhofer Austria Research GmbH initiated a study investigating the purchase situation of Austrian companies. The key part of this study is an online questionnaire that was sent to over 2,000 Austrian companies. The study investigates i. a. material cost movements, the application of methods, procurement structure, automation and IT-integration, supplier relationship management, and procurement controlling. The clear result: success in purchase is no coincidence. It does not depend necessarily on a company's industry, branch or size, but can be brought about by the use of best-practices. The most successful companies surveyed differ distinctly from the rest of the participants in the methods and procedures they employ.
