Abstract:

This master thesis (MT) examines if an agrophotovoltaic (APV) system is economically interesting for a landowner and an investor even without an electricity subsidy tariff. Conditions for this are that the area-related contribution margin [€/ha] for the landowner after the installation of the photovoltaic (PV) system is higher than before and for the investor that the electricity production costs are lower than the electricity revenues. Since there are no electricity subsidies in Austria or Italy, this is simulated based on projects in both countries. Current and country-specific construction, operating and financing costs are determined for the simulation. The energy production is also calculated. The Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) are determined based on the costs and the energy production. The investigation in the MT has shown that an installation is interesting for the landowner, but the investor does not make a profit with the current costs and prices. A reason are the high financing costs. Assuming the financing costs for a German project for the Italian project with a useful life of 30 years, both conditions are met and such a system would also be worthwhile for the investor.
