Das Thema dieser Diplomarbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Schaffung eines neuen Wohnquartiers in der Stadt Mostar, Bosnien-Herzegowina. Das zentral gelegene Grundstück besitzt ein Ausmaß von ca. 2,2 ha. Es setzt sich zusammen aus einer nicht bebauten Fläche sowie einem flächenmäßig dreimal so großem bebauten Areal. Dieses ist geprägt von einem für die Stadt bedeutenden öffentlichen Platz, der eine Einheit mit dem historisch geprägten Kulturzentrum bildet, das aufgrund seines kulturellen Nutzens, für die Bevölkerung und das Stadtbild ausgebaut und revitalisiert wird. Vis-a-vis des zu planenden Bauplatzes befindet sich der größte städtische Park der als ein beliebter Treffpunkt der Bewohnerinnen fungiert. Dadurch wird er ein maßgeblichen Einfluss auf das planende Gebiet haben. Die Herausforderung liegt an der Umsetzung eines für die Stadt zukunftsorientierten durchgemischten Wohnquartiers unter Bezug auf die bestehenden Einflussfaktoren und städtebaulichen Gegebenheiten. Ziel ist es eine höhere Wohnzufriedenheit unter den unterschiedlichen Nutzergruppen und eine Erhöhung der Lebensqualität und des Standards zu schaffen.

This thesis deals with establishmentof a new residental area in the city of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The central portion extends over the area of approx. 2,2 ha. It consists of an unbuilt surface, as well as an existing surface area that is three times as large. This area is embossed with one of the city`s most significant opened spaces, that forms unity together with historically imprinted cultural center. Due to creating a better and prettier surrounding, this area is being revitalized. Next to the planned building site is also the biggest city park, know as the most popular meeting point in the city. Therefore there will be a significant influence on the planned residential area. The challenge lies in the implementation of this future-oriented residential area, considering the existing factors and mixed neighbourhoods surrounding it. The aim is to achieve a higher satisfaction with the surrounding environment for all groups of users and an increase in life quality and standards.
