Im Zentrum Portugals befindet sich ein beliebtes inländisches Reiseziel, der Naturpark Serra da Estrela. Diese Gegend bildet den größten geschützten Naturpark Portugals und den höchsten Punkt auf ca. 1993m. Er beheimatet ein reiches Kulturerbe und ist bekannt für seine traditionellen Tätigkeiten der Schafszucht, der Erzeugung von handgemachtem Käse, der Förderung von Bienenzucht, sowie der Wein-, Schinken-, Chorizo- und Olivenölherstellung. Im kleinen Dorf Santa Marinha (Seia) welches sich im östlichen Teil, am Fuße des Naturparks befindet, soll eine ökotouristische Anlage entstehen die die lokale Kultur und Agrikultur respektiert und fördert. Santa Marinha ist, wie in seinem Wappen dargestellt, für seine Olivenölherstellung bekannt. Die Einheimischen haben sich bereits seit Jahrhunderten mit der Olivenöl Produktion befasst und stellen ein hoch qualitatives Olivenölprodukt her. Dabei soll der Ökotourismus überwiegend auf die Olivenölproduktion eingehen. Die touristische Anlage soll auch das reiche Kulturerbe des Naturparks mit einbeziehen und betonen. Der Bauplatz befindet sich auf einem über 100 Jahre altem Olivenbaumfeld im Naturschutzgebiet und beherbergt ein altes Steinhaus, welches über Jahrzehnte als Scheune für Agrikulturzwecke genutzt wurde. Dieses Steinhaus soll Teil des Tourismusprojektes werden und mit eingeplant werden. Die Anlage soll natürliche regionale Baumaterialien mit einbeziehen und sich dem Umfeld anpassen.

In the center of Portugal is a popular travel destination, the Natural Park of Serra da Estrela. This area forms the largest protected natural park of Portugal and the highest point at 1993m. It¿s home of a rich cultural heritage and is well-known for its traditional activities of sheep-breeding, cheese hand-making, the promotion of bee-keeping, wine, ham, chorizo and olive oil production. In the small village of Santa Marinha (Seia), which is located in the eastern part, at the foot of the natural park, will be realized an ecotourism unit which respects and promotes local culture and agriculture. Santa Marinha is well known for his olive oil production, as his coat of arms shows us. The local people have been dealing with olive oil production for centuries and produces a high quality olive oil product. The ecotourism will principally focus on olive oil production. The tourism complex will also include and accentuate the rich cultural heritage of the natural park. The structure site is located on an over 100 year old olive tree field in the nature conservation area and contains an old stone house which has been used for decades as a barn for agricultural purposes. This stone house will be part of the tourism project. The construction will include natural regional building materials and adapt to the environment.
