Peoplet communication plugin framework

Abstract

Diese Diplomarbeit beschreibt ein platformunabhängiges Kommunikations Plugin Framework für den Peoplet Career Messenger.<br />Peoplet dient der Verbesserung des Rekrutierungsprozesses für Arbeitgeber und Jobsuchende. Basierend auf dem Peer-to-Peer Konzept erlaubt die Applikation eine leichte Indentifizierung von aktiven und passiven Spezialisten mit den gesuchten Fähigkeiten innerhalb von kurzer Zeit. Ausserdem wird auch ein soziales Netzwerk unterstützt, um die Jobsuche zu erleichtern. Eine einfache Möglichkeit zur Kommunikation zwischen den einzelnen Usern trägt dazu einen wichtigen Teil bei.<br />Der Aufbau der der Peoplet Platform basiert auf JPF. Die Funktionalität für die Kommunikation wird als Plugin dieses Frameworks implementiert und ist ein Teil der graphischen Benutzerschnittstelle. Der Hauptzweck ist eine Verbindung zwischen den Benutzern des Peoplet Netzwerkes zu ermöglichen. Da am Anfang nur die Grundfunktionalität bereitgestellt wird, wird auch die Weiterentwicklung dieses Moduls berücksichtigt, indem eine Plugin Struktur unterstützt wird. Dieser Ansatz erleichtert die Wartung und eine dynamische Erweiterung durch die Firma und Fremdanbieter. Eine erste Anwendung dieses Ansatzes sind betriebssystemspezifische Erweiterungen, da der Hauptteil der Implementierung möglichst generell ist, um die Ausführbarkeit auf unterschiedlichen Platformen nicht einzuschränken.

This thesis describes a cross platform communication plugin framework that is embedded into the Peoplet career messenger. Peoplet is designed to improve the recruitment process for employers and candidates. Based on a peer-to-peer concept it allows to identify active and passive professionals with the wanted skills in a short time.<br />Furthermore support of social networking as an aid for the job search is provided. To allow an easy way of communicating among users is an important contribution to serve this purpose.<br />The architecture of the Peoplet platform is based on the plugin framework JPF. The communication functionalities are implemented within a plugin of this framework and form a part of the graphical user interface of the application. Its main aim is to deliver the basics to connect users of the Peoplet social network with each other. Since in the beginning only a base of core functionalities are realized, the needs of further development are taken into account by implementing a plugin structure by itself. Thereby the simplicity of maintenance and dynamic extensions by the company and third parties are improved. A first appliance of this framework are operating system specific extensions, since the main implementation is rather general to allow an execution on different platforms.
