In theory there are a lot of methods to realise reasoning processes in Semantic Web Applications. In practice it is quite difficult to find established methods for reasoning in SemanticWeb Applications today. This diploma thesis includes an introduction to the idea of Semantic Web Applications, a theoretical background and an overview on actual reasoning methods and their performances. Therefore Semantic Web Applications will be enlarged by different reasoning methods and systems in practice. Most of the research material and the practical examples have arisen from the authors engagement at the Vienna company Smart Information Systems.
