Pavillon 22.2 : Umbau und thermische Sanierung eines Spitalspavillons des ehemaligen Otto-Wagner-Spitals zu einem Studentenwohnheim der Central European University

Abstract

Die Klinik Penzing, ehemals Otto-Wagner-Spital, zog mit dem Jahr 2020 aus vielen Spitalspavillons aus. Gleichzeitig suchte die Central European University nach einer neuen Standort. Ziel der CEU ist es, einen universitären Betrieb auf dem Areal des ehemaligen Spitals in Zukunft möglich zu machen. Da das gesamte Ensemble unter Denkmalgeschützt steht, sind wohl überlegte Entscheidungen zu treffen, die eng mit dem Bundesdenkmalamt abzustimmen sind. Neben Gebäuden für Unterrichts- und Verwaltungszwecke benötigt die Universität auch Studentenwohnheime. Aufgrund der städtebaulichen Lage des Pavillon 22 ist eine neue Verwendung als Studentenheim sehr wahrscheinlich. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist, das Pavillon 22 der ehemaligen niederösterreichischen Landesheil- und Pflegeanstalt in ein Studentenwohnheim umzuplanen. Damit das Spitalspavillon aus dem frühen 20. Jahrhundert in ein modernes Studentenheim adaptiert werden kann, ist eine thermische Sanierung sowie eine Erneuerung der Haustechnik notwendig. Da mehrere Pavillons durch die CEU umgebaut werden, können bauphysikalische Überlegungen und Ausführungsvorschläge zum Bauzustand am Pavillon 22 als Beispiele für weitere Pavillons herangezogen werden.

The Hospital Penzing, formerly Otto-Wagner-Hospital, moved out of most of his hospital pavilions in 2020. At the same time, the Central European University was looking for a new location. The aim of the CEU is to enable university utilizations in the former hospital. Since the entire ensemble is under monumental protection, well considered decisions have to be made, which must be coordinated closely with the Federal Monuments Office. In addition to buildings for teaching and administrative purposes, the university also needs student dormitories. Due to the urban location of Pavilion 22, a new use as a student residence is very likely. The aim of this work is to convert pavilion 22 from the former sanatorium into a student dormitory. In order to adapt a hospital pavilion from the early 20th century into a modern student residence, thermal renovation and renewal of the building services are necessary. Since several pavilions are being remodeled by the CEU, considerations in terms of building physics and implementation suggestions for the state of construction on pavilion 22 can also be used as examples for other pavilions.
