Abstract:
This thesis pursues a comprehensive view of the interface of architecture, city development and society. The heterogeneity of spatial aspects are examined pursuant to constructive-, architectural- and urban-design. The relationships of specific spatial configurations and their impacts an architecture and city development are studied through the use of theories and projects. The evolution of architecture and city development are supposed to be seen in their dependence an the changes of the society. At the beginning stands an overview of the spatial terms of philosophy, psychology, the natural sciences and of mathematics for the purpose of explaining the definition of the architectural space. Furthermore, the design methods of planners for the organization and creation of space as useful elements are explained. After the examination of the term follows the translation. The result of space-creation, the designed human environment, is viewed through the use of settlement structures and spatial developments in connection with the architectural space, its structure and expansion, as well as the transitions and hierarchies in the dialogue of object and space. The City-wide, or today already regional, aspects of space structure the living space and thus have their impact an society through the definition of border conditions for models of movement, encounters and retreat. The discussion with the 'in-between' space in architecture continues an the level of spatial networking and interconnection.
