Abstract:
Digital photographs offer the possibility to store metadata regarding time and location where the photograph was taken. GPS receivers can keep a record if locations and timestamps, from which coordinates for photo locations can be calculated. Putting this information into the photo record is called "geotagging". This thesis discusses this technology and develops an Open Source software suit to tag photographs and to search photographs using this geographical information.
