Abstract:
Im Rahmen dieser Diplomarbeit wird Evolutionary Micro Classification (EMC) vorgestellt. EMC ist ein kollaborativer Ansatz zur Klassifikation von Multimedia-Dokumenten. Dieser Ansatz versucht, die Organisation einer digitalen Bibliothek kontinuierlich zu verändern, um den Bedürfnissen der Benutzer gerecht zu werden. EMC bietet Funktionalität, um den aufwändigen Prozess des Klassifizierens durch Kollaboration zu erleichtern.<br />Ein generisches Framework, EMC Framework API, für die Erstellung eines EMC Systems wird präsentiert. Darauf aufbauend wird ein Prototype eines EMC Systems vorgestellt. Dieser bietet eine Vielzahl an Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten, um den Anforderungen einer Evaluierung zu genügen. Abschliessend werden mögliche Ausgangspunkte für eine Evaluierung von EMC diskutiert.<br />

This thesis describes Evolutionary Micro Classification (EMC), an approach for classification of digital media which continuously adapts the organization of a digital repository according to the needs of its users. EMC provides functionality to complement the laborious task of manual classification by collaboration.<br />A generic framework, the EMC Framework API, for building EMC systems is presented. Based on this framework, the EMC system prototype is described. The framework is highly configurable in order to address the needs of an evaluation. Finally, some starting points for an evaluation of the EMC approach are discussed.
