A novel approach to estimate degradation of a PEM fuel cell during dynamic operation based on the extended Kalman filter is presented. The algorithm is tested on measurement data. A good agreement between measurement and observer is obtained for the whole lifetime. The estimated change in State-of-Health aligns with literature.
