DonauVita - Schwimmender Lebensraum an der Donau

Abstract

Das Projekt „DonauVita“ bietet in Anbetracht der Herausforderungen des Klimawandels, steigender Grundstückspreise und der wachsenden Nachfrage nach Wohnraum in städtischen Gebieten einen innovativen Ansatz in der Stadtplanung und im Bauwesen. Es präsentiert eine nachhaltige, flexible und gemeinschaftsfördernde Lösung für Wohn- und Arbeitsraum in Wien. Im Fokus der Masterthese steht die Konstruktion von modularen, schwimmenden Einheiten in einem Altarm der Donau, innerhalb der Wiener Stadtgrenzen. Diese Einheiten umfassen sowohl Wohn- als auch Co-Working-Bereiche und ermöglichen eine harmonische Verbindung von Natur und städtischem Leben. Die Module sind flexibel gestaltet und können leicht an wechselnde Bedürfnisse der Bewohner und Nutzer angepasst werden. Um eine nahtlose Verbindung zwischen den beiden Uferbereichen zu gewährleisten, werden leichte, schwimmende Brücken als Erschließung vorgesehen. Diese Brücken sind als sogenannte Schub-Brücken konzipiert, sodass sie bei Bedarf mobilisiert und der Wasserweg freigegeben werden kann. Damit kann das blaue Wasser unter sich verändernden Rahmenbedingungen flexibel und dynamisch mit Wohneinheiten (und ggf. anderen Nutzungen) bespielt werden, ohne massive Eingriffe in die Uferlandschaft tätigen zu müssen.Der grundlegende Entwurf umfasst neben den Wohn- und Arbeitsbereichen auch verschiedene öffentliche Einrichtungen für BewohnerInnen und besuchende Personen. Diese Strukturen sollen damit zur Attraktivierung des industriell geprägten Umlands beitragen, und als Attraktoren für einen Besuch am blauen Wasser dienen. Der ausgewählte Standort „Blaues Wasser“ bietet mehrere Vorteile. Ein natürlicher Höhenunterschied ermöglicht eine klare Trennung zwischen öffentlichen und privaten Bereichen und schafft somit Privatsphäre. Die Nähe zur Donau ermöglicht logistische Vorteile, insbesondere den einfachen Transport von Baumaterialien während der Bauphase. Zusätzlich bietet der Standort zahlreiche Möglichkeiten für sportliche Aktivitäten, sowohl auf dem Wasser als auch in den umliegenden Grünflächen.Das Hauptziel des Projekts „DonauVita“ besteht darin, einen ressourcenbedachten, flexiblen und zugleich naturverbundenen Wohn- und Arbeitsraum zu schaffen. Es wird angestrebt, eine Umgebung zu entwickeln, die sich schnell an veränderte Bedürfnisse anpassen kann und gleichzeitig einen hohen Lebensstandard bietet.Das Projekt „DonauVita“ präsentiert einen innovativen und zukunftsorientierten Ansatz zur Bewältigung der Herausforderungen, die durch Klimawandel und Urbanisierung entstehen. Es kombiniert die Prinzipien der schwimmenden Architektur und des Modulbaus und will einen Beitrag zur nachhaltigen städtebaulichen Entwicklung in Wien leisten.

The „DonauVita“ project offers an innovative approach to urban planning and construction in view of the challenges of climate change, rising property prices and the growing demand for housing in urban areas. It presents a sustainable, flexible, and community-supporting solution for living and working space in Vienna.The focus of the master's thesis is the construction of modular, floating units in an oxbow river of the Danube, within the Vienna city limits. These units include both residential and co-working areas and enable a harmonious combination of nature and urban life. The modules are designed flexibly and can be easily adapted to the changing needs of residents and users. In order to ensure a seamless connection between the two bank areas, light, floating bridges will be provided as access. These bridges are designed as so-called retractable bridges so that they can be mobilized if necessary and the waterway can be opened. This means that the „Blaues Wasser” can be used flexibly and dynamically with residential units (and possibly other uses) under changing conditions, without having to make massive interventions in the bank landscape.In addition to the living and working areas, the basic design also includes various public facilities for residents and visitors. These structures are intended to make the industrial surrounding area more attractive and serve as an attractor for a visit to the „Blaues Wasser”.The selected „Blaues Wasser” location offers several advantages. A natural height difference allows for a clear separation between public and private areas, thus creating privacy. The proximity to the Danube enables logistical advantages, in particular the easy transport of building materials during the construction phase. The location also offers numerous opportunities for sporting activities, both on the water and in the surrounding green areas.The main goal of the „DonauVita” project is to create a resource-conscious, flexible living and working space that is at the same time close to nature. The aim is to develop an environment that can quickly adapt to changing needs while offering a high standard of living.The „DonauVita” project presents an innovative and future-oriented approach to tackling the challenges posed by climate change and urbanization. It combines the principles of floating architecture and modular construction and aims to make a contribution to sustainable urban development in Vienna.
