Traditon und Innovaton: Entwurf eines neuen Fußballstadions für Mailand

Abstract

Mailand ist die Heimat von zwei der bekanntesten Fußballclubs der Welt, AC Milan und Inter Mailand. Allerdings entspricht das von ihnen geteilte Heimstadion nicht mehr den Ansprüchen des modernen Fußballs. Das altehrwürdige Stadio San Siro bietet einerseits nicht mehr den Komfort den Fans erwarten und andererseits nicht die ökonomischen Möglichkeiten, welche die Fußballclubs in der heutigen Zeit benötigen. Diese Diplomarbeit behandelt den Entwurf eines neuen Fußballstadions, das als neue Heimstäte der beiden Clubs dienen soll.Ein zentraler Aspekt des Entwurfs besteht darin, die einzigartige Atmosphäre des bisherigen Stadions zu bewahren, während es gleichzeitig den modernen Standards gerecht wird. Charakteristische Merkmale der bisherigen Heimstäte und wichtige Aspekte moderner Fußballstadien in ganz Europa werden kombiniert und in den Entwurf integriert. Gleichzeitig definiert das Stadion das Zentrum für ein neues Mailänder Stadtviertel. Durch den Entwurf soll dem Publikum ein zeitgemäßer, komfortabler und stimmungsvoller Besuch im Stadion ermöglicht werden während die Clubs durch ihre Investiton den Grundstein für eine erfolgreiche Zukunft legen.

Milan is home to two of the most famous football clubs in the world, AC Miland and Inter Milan. However, the stadium they share no longer meets the requirements of modern football. The venerable Stadio San Siro offers neither the comfort that fans expect nor the economic opportunities that football clubs need in today's world. This thesis addresses the design of a new football stadium that will serve as the new home for both clubs.A central aspect of the design is to preserve the unique atmosphere of the previous stadium while at the same time fullfilling modern standards. Characteristic features of the existing home ground and key elements from modern football stadiums throughout Europe are combined and integrated into the design. At the same time, the stadium defines the centre of a new neighbourhood in Milan. The design aims to provide spectators with a contemporary, comfortable, and atmospheric experience during their visit to the stadium, while the clubs' investment lays the foundations for a successful future.
