Abstract:
Offshore wind (OFW) is playing a dominant role in the global green transition. In this thesis, the global OFW industry is examined from a technical, energetic, economic and environmental point of view. Also, main market developments and corporate strategies are discussed. Based on this, the author establishes a blueprint of a well-functioning OFW market design and provides concrete recommendations to MOL Group on how to approach its two potential offshore wind markets: Poland and Croatia. In the restricted, full version of this analysis, the two potential OFW markets for MOL Group are analyzed in depth. At the end, a regulatory, wind potential, supply chain, organizational, and financial considerations will all be taken into account to draw a conclusion for the Group. The complete analysis can serve as a go-to-market strategy for MOL Group in offshore wind. Lastly, conclusions are drawn.
