Ein Marktplatz, viele Funktionen. Während meiner Reisen nach Izmir, Bayraklı, meiner Heimatstadt, kam mir die Frage in den Sinn, dass es einen Ort geben sollte, an dem Menschen jeden Alters zusammenkommen, zu leistbaren Preisen einkaufen und an sozialen Aktivitäten teilnehmen können. Aufgrund dieser Frage habe ich beschlossen, einen multifunktionalen Marktplatz mit ökologischen Werten zu entwerfen, der sich die Aufmerksamkeit junger Menschen am Markt ziehen soll. Bayraklı ist einer der 11 Bezirke der Metropole Izmir. Es befindet sich im Stadtzentrum von Izmir, auf dem Asphalt Izmir-Çanakkale in der nordöstlichen Ecke der Bucht von Izmir. Im Nordwesten liegt Karşıyaka, im Osten und Süden Bornova, im Südwesten Konak und im Westen die Bucht von Izmir. Auch verkehrstechnisch ist der Bezirk Bayraklı sehr gut gelegen, er ist sehr bequem mit Bus und U-Bahn zu erreichen. Da das Projekt Menschen jeden Alters ansprechen soll, werden Zugänglichkeit und Funktionalität gemeinsam berücksichtigt. Nach Abschluss des Projekts soll ein einzigartiger Markt mit insgesamt 3 Etagen in der Türkei geschaffen werden, sowohl im Hinblick auf den Handel als auch auf die Sozialität.

One marketplace, many functions. During my vacations in my hometown in Izmir/Bayraklı, the question which always came to my mind was that there should be a place where people of all ages can come together, shop at affordable prices, and engage in social activities. Based upon this question, I decided to design a multifunctional marketplace with ecological values that would increase young people’s interest.Bayraklı is one of the 11 sections that make up the Izmir’s capital. It is located on the Izmir-Çanakkale asphalt in the northeastern corner of the Izmir Bay. Karşıyaka in the northwest, Bornova in the both east and south, Konak district in the southwest, and finally İzmir Bay in the west. Bayraklı district is also known with it’s good location in terms of transportation, because it can easily reached by bus and subway. Since this project aims to suit to people of all ages, accessibility and functionality are considered together.Once the project is completed, it will be a unique marketplace with a total of 3 floors, very rich in terms of trade and sociality.
