Der FC Blau Weiß Linz ist ein professioneller Fußballverein der 2. Österreichischen Bundesliga und spielt in der Saison 2020/21 im Stadion der Stadt Linz, welches allerdings nur mehr zwei Jahre zu Verfügung stehen wird. Der Verein ist somit auf ein neues Fußballstadion mit ca. 5.000 – 10.000 Zuschauerplätzen an einem anderen Standort angewiesen. Nach Auswertung einer Standortanalyse fiel die Wahl auf das Areal der Halbinsel im Bereich des Winterhafens.Aufgrund der Nähe zur Donau und umgebenden Naturraum war das Ziel das Gebäude gut in die Landschaft zu integrieren. Das neue Stadion soll für den Verein und die Fans eine neue identitätsstiftende Heimstätte sein und zugleich einen hohen Mehrwert für die allgemeine Öffentlichkeit darstellen.

The FC Blau Weiß Linz is a professional football club of the 2nd Austrian Bundesliga. The homeground is currently the stadium of Linz city, which however will only be accessible for another two years. The club is therefore dependent on a new football stadium for approx. 5,000 - 10,000 spectators at a different location. After an analysis the choice fell on the Danube peninsula located near the Winterhafen.Due to the proximity to the Danube and the natural surroundings, the aim was to integrate the stadium into the landscape. The new stadium should create a new identity for the fans and at the same time represent a high added value for the general public.
