LEHM im Holzsystem. Hybridlösung für nachhaltiges Bauen in der Stadt

Abstract

Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit untersucht die Maximierung des Einsatzes von Lehm im Geschosswohnungsbau, um ökologisch nachhaltiges Bauen zu fördern. Ziel der Arbeit ist es, ressourcenintensive Baustoffe durch nachhaltige und rückführbare Lehmbauprodukte sowie weitere nachwachsende Rohstoffe zu ersetzen und damit den ökologischen Fußabdruck des Bauwesens zu verringern.Die zentralen Forschungsfragen lauten: Wie können ressourcenintensive Baustoffe durch nachhaltige Lehmbauprodukte ersetzt werden, und in welchen Bereichen kann Lehm als Ersatzbaustoff in einem konkreten Entwurf verwendet werden? Um diese Fragen zu beantworten, wurde ein Expertinnen-Interview mit einem Architekturbüro durchgeführt, das im Wohnbau erfahren ist und den Grundlagenentwurf für das Projekt geliefert hat.Als Grundlage dieser Arbeit diente ein Wohn- und Geschäftshaus in einem Stadtentwicklungsgebiet, das in einem Lehm-Holz-System neu gedacht wurde. Dieser Entwurf dient als alternative Lösung zu dem bereits gebauten Projekt mit Beton-Sandwichpaneelen. Durch die Analyse der Grundrisse und die Recherche zu Bauprodukten wurden mithilfe einfacher Bewertungstools Bauteile erstellt und ökologisch bewertet. Der Entwurf greift auf bestehende Vorteile im Holzsystembau zurück, insbesondere im Hinblick auf Vorfertigung und Ressourceneffizienz, und entwickelt ein System, das auf den Wohnbau skalierbar ist. Zudem werden Leitdetails in der Lehm-Holz-Kombination weiterentwickelt.Die Schlussfolgerungen dieser Arbeit demonstrieren exemplarisch, wie Lehm als nachhaltiger Baustoff in der Praxis angewendet werden kann. Der dargestellte Entwurf und die Leitdetails verdeutlichen, dass Lehm in Kombination mit dem Holzsystembau eine vielversprechende Alternative zu konventionellen Baustoffen darstellt und signifikante ökologische Vorteile bietet.

This diploma thesis examines the maximization of the use of clay building products in multi-story residential buildings in order to promote ecologically sustainable construction.Aim of the thesis is to replace resource-intensive building materials with sustainable and recyclable clay building products and other renewable materials, thereby reducing the ecological footprint of the construction industry.In the following the main research questions:How can resource-intensive building materials be replaced by sustainable clay building products? In which areas can clay be used as a substitute building material in a specific building design? To answer these questions, an expert interview was conducted with an architectural firm experienced in residential building constructions and which provided the basic design for the project.Basis of this thesis is a residential and commercial building in an urban development area rethought by using a clay-wood system.This design is intended to show an alternative solution to the already existing project built with concrete sandwich panels. By analyzing the floor plans and researching building products, components were created and ecologically evaluated using simple assessment tools.The design uses existing advantages of timber system construction, particularly with regard to prefabrication and resource efficiency, and develops a system scalable to residential construction.In addition, key details in the clay-wood combination are further developed.The conclusions of this thesis demonstrate in an exemplary manner how in practice clay can be used as a sustainable building material.The presented design and the key details make clear that earth combined with timber system constructions represents a promising alternative to conventional building materials and that it offers significant ecological advantages.
