dc.description.abstract

dc.description.abstract
The first part of this work deals with the safety requirements in the field of human robot collaboration. The second and more extensive part is a feasibility analysis regarding the automation of the bending process with a force sensitive light weight robot (KUKA iiwa 14). Therefor, the positioning of a sheet metal at the backauge and the bending with the impedance control mode\footnote{The gripper holds the metal sheet part during the bending process and the required motion results from the forces, acting on the robot.} of the LBR iiwa 14, were examined based on an experimental setup. On top of that also the creation of robot applications with the teach-in respectively playback procedure, in the area of bending, was investigated. The results show, that bending with the impedance control mode of the LBR iiwa 14 only works for small process speeds. Furthermore, it was shown that, basically the robot is able to align a workpiece at the bauckauge. But due to the inaccurate measurement data this isn't a very reliable process. The creation of robot applications with the teach-in and playback procedure is only suitable for simple bending parts. For more elaborated parts this programming method quickly become confusing and complex. The investigation of the safety requirements has shown that for the collaboration form power and force limitation, the manipulation of sheet metals is not permitted. The other types of collaboration can, in principle be used in the automation of bending. However, the prerequisite therefor is the use of a gripper, which is capable of reliably preventing a loss of the sheet metal.
