Die Vorliegende Arbeit soll am Beispiel der Wiener Großfeldsiedlung einen Beitrag und Vorschlag zur möglichen Stadterneuerung in Großwohnbauten am Stadtrand und Schaffung neuer sozialer Zentren in diesen leisten. Basis dieser Arbeit ist eine historische Annäherung zum Ursprung und der Entstehungsgeschichte dieser Großwohnbauten sowie eine Stadträumliche Analyse des Projektgebiets Großfeldsiedlung. Im Historischen Teil der Arbeit wird der Ursprung und die Geschichte des Sozialen Wohnbaus in Wien bis in die 70er Jahre erläutert, die Motivation zur Gründung von Wohnsiedlungen außerhalb des zentralen Stadtgebiets, sowie ihre Umgestaltung und Entwicklung nach Ende des zweiten Weltkriegs. In der Stadträumlichen Analyse des Projektgebiets Großfeldsiedlung wird der Bestand der Wohnbauten, der sozialen und kulturellen Infrastruktur, der Nahversorgung, des Freiraums und der Verkehrsanbindung analysiert. Basierend auf diesen beiden Teilen wird in weiterer Folge ein Entwurf für den Prototypen eines neuen sozialen Stadtteilzentrums erarbeitet und erläutert.

Using the Vienna Großfeldsiedlung as an example, this work is intended to make a contribution and proposal for a possible urban renewal project in a large-scale residential estate on the outskirts of the city and the creation of a new social center in them. The basis of this work is a historical approach to the origin and history of these large residential estate as well as an urban spatial analysis of the Großfeldsiedlung project area. The historical part of the work explains the origin and history of social housing in Vienna up to the 1970s, the motivation for founding housing estates outside the central city area, as well as their transformation and development after the end of the Second World War. In the urban spatial analysis of the Großfeldsiedlung project area, the existing residential buildings, social and cultural infrastructure, local amenities, open space and transport connections are analyzed. Based on these two parts, a proposal for the prototype of a new social district center will be developed and explained.
