Das Bauen lernen : Grundstein für eine Bauschule in Vorarlberg

Abstract

Diese Diplomarbeit widmet sich der Fragestellung, wie sich eine Bauschule in Vorarlberg manifestieren kann. Hierzu soll eine Ausbildungsprogrammatik entwickelt werden, die unter anderem Bezug nimmt auf die regionale Bautradition,sowie auf die Herausforderungen unserer Zeit.Zu Beginn der Arbeit wird der Begriff bauen erörtert und die vielen Aspekte, die„das Bauen“ ausmachen, aufgezeigt. Anschließend soll in einem geschichtlichen Abriss dargestellt werden, wie sich die Rolle des Architekten und dessen Ausbildung über die Zeit verändert haben. Im Zuge dessen werden in zwei regionalen Exkursen die „Auer Zunft“ und die „Neue Vorarlberger Bauschule“ unter diesen Aspekten näher erläutert, und sollen somit repräsentativ für ihre jeweilige Zeit stehen. Um aktuelle Perspektiven auf das Thema Bauen zu gewinnen, wurden zwei unterschiedliche Herangehensweisen gewählt. Zum einen wurde ein Praktikum in einer Zimmerei absolviert, wobei die Baupraxis hautnah erlebt und täglich dokumentiert werden konnte. Zum anderen gewährten 14 Personen durch Erzählungen zu ihrem Werdegang und ihrer Profession unterschiedliche Einblicke auf das Thema Bauen. Abschließend wird aus der Fülle an Erkenntnissen eine Vision für eine ortsspezifische, Vorarlberger Ausbildungsform für Architektur entwickelt.

This diploma thesis is dedicated to the question of how a building school can be developed in Vorarlberg. For this purpose, an educational program is created on the basis of the regional building tradition as well as the challenges of our time At the beginning the thesis deals with the discussion of the concept of building and the many aspects, which constitute the term building. This will be followed by a historical outline of how the role of the architect and their professional education have changed over time. In the course of this historical Assessment the AuerZunft and the "Neue Vorarlberger Bauschule" will be explained in more detail in two regional excurses and therefore, each will represent their own era. In order to gain current perspectives and insights on the topic of building, two different approaches were chosen. On the one hand, an internship was completed in acarpentry shop, where construction practice could be experienced first hand and was also documented on a daily basis. On the other hand, 14 people provided different insights into the subject of construction through stories about their careers and professions. Finally, a vision for a site-specific, Vorarlberg form of education for architecture is established from the findings of both the theoretical and practical approach taken.
