In the low Reynolds number regime, collective swimming behaviors can be significantly influenced by environmental factors, such as chemical fields. When exposed to a chemical gradient, a pair of hydrodynamically interacting swimmers undergo drastic changes in their dynamics. In our research, we investigate the chemotactic navigation of a pair of helically propelling swimmers within a linear chemical gradient [1,2]. To model these swimmers, we employ the chiral squirmer model [2,3,4], representing them as spherical, non-deformable bodies with non-axisymmetric slip velocity. Our findings reveal that the presence of a chemical stimulus enhances the attraction between the swimmers, leading to highly synchronized bounded motion [1,3,4]. Remarkably, this cooperative behavior enables the pair of swimmers to reach their target more efficiently compared to isolated swimmers [1].
