Revitalisierung und Retrofit eines verfallenen Küstengebäudes in Rovinj

Abstract

Diese Diplomarbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Revitalisierung eines verfallenen Bauwerkes an der Küste Rovinjs in Kroatien. Ziel ist es, aus diesem Ort ein Zentrum für Begegnungen zu schaffen, in dem man eine multifunktionale Galerie mit angrenzenden Werkstätten und Ateliers in das bestehende Gebäude implementiert und durch einen Neubau, der Anhand eines Retrofitansatzes ergänzt wird.Die Geschichte dieses Ortes ist teils unbekannt. Dennoch ist Rovinj bekannt für seine Kunst, Natur und kulturelle Vielfalt, was in diesem Projekt zusammengefasst und gegen den fortschreitenden Verfall der Gebäude eingesetzt werden soll. Die architektonische Herausforderung besteht darin, die ursprünglichen Merkmale und bedeutenden Aspekte der Gebäude wiederherzustellen und innovativ weiterzuentwickeln.Durch eine detaillierte Analyse, die historische Merkmale sowie die Umgebung und Landschaft einbezieht, wird der erste Entwurfsansatz entwickelt. Im Weiteren wird die Methodik der Analyse hervorgehoben, die bei der Revitalisierung angewendet wird. Dabei liegt der Fokus darauf, die positiven und relevanten Eigenschaften der Gebäude zu erkennen und zu bewahren, während negative Eigenschaften identifiziert und durch neue Strukturen verbessert werden.Um die Revitalisierung dieses Bauwerks zu einem positiven Endergebnis zu führen, ist die Integration eines Neubaus, der sich in die bestehende Struktur einfügt und das Gebäude durch einen durchdachten Entwurf Prozess ergänzt, essenziell. Es geht nicht nur darum, das Gebäude zu erweitern und Galerien sowie Werkstätten für Besucher und Künstler zu schaffen, sondern auch darum, einen Ort für kreativen Austausch und kulturelle Veranstaltungen zu bieten. Das Konzept des Gebäudes verfolgt einen nachhaltigen Weg, der auf kroatische Ressourcen und soziologischen Weiterführungsprogrammen setzt. Diese Verbindung aus der Tradition des Bestandsgebäudes und dem neu errichteten Ergänzungsbau schafft ein harmonisches Zusammenspiel von Alt und Neu, unterstützt durch einen durchdachten Entwurf und technische Planung.Dieses Projekt soll ein bedeutendes Beispiel für nachhaltige Architektur und innovative Revitalisierungsansätze darstellen. Es soll auch ein Denkanstoß für den zukünftigen Umgang mit historischen Bauten sein, um deren Erhalt und Nutzung zu sichern.

This diploma thesis deals with the revitalization of a dilapidated building on the coast of Rovinj in Croatia. The aim is to create a center for encounters from this place by implementing a multifunctional gallery with adjoining workshops and studios in the existing building and supplementing it with a new building based on a retrofit approach.The history of this place is partly unknown. Nevertheless, Rovinj is known for its art, nature and cultural diversity, which is to be summarized in this project and used against the progressive decay of the buildings. The architectural challenge is to restore and innovatively develop the original features and significant aspects of the buildings.The initial design approach is developed through a detailed analysis that incorporates historical features as well as the surroundings and landscape. It also highlights the methodology of analysis used in the revitalization. The focus is on recognizing and preserving the positive and relevant features of the buildings, while negative features are identified and improved through new structures.To bring the revitalization of this building to a positive end result, the integration of a new building that fits into the existing structure and complements the building through a thoughtful design process is essential. The aim is not only to extend the building and create galleries and workshops for visitors and artists, but also to provide a space for creative exchange and cultural events. The concept of the building follows a sustainable path that relies on Croatian resources and sociological development programs. This combination of the tradition of the existing building and the newly constructed extension creates a harmonious interplay of old and new, supported by a well thought-out design and technical planning.This project is intended to be an important example of sustainable architecture and innovative revitalization approaches. It is also intended to provide food for thought for the future handling of historic buildings in order to ensure their preservation and use.
